Designing with Mosaics

Prior to the experimenting with new materials for mosaic applications, much of the design focus was placed on the jumble of colors, especially with the use of vitreous glass where there are abundant colors that can be added to the color blend. The use of color to generate visual effects and stimulate visual sense is what makes vitreous glass mosaics a popular choice for architectural and interior finishing. Not only can a blend of colors give different perception of space, temperature, it can also affect one’s mood when placed in a given color-theme environment. Moreover, using blends of different color and/or opacity with vitreous glass can replicate the visual effects of other texture such as aluminum panel, granite slab, wooden board, and Victorian wallpaper.
